It all starts with a theme

Selecting a theme is one of the most important aspects of creating our event, from the design of the effigy all the way down to the flavor of the drink your camp serves or the color scheme of your costume.

A great theme not only sets the stage for great art to be created, but it directly affects the entire look and feel of our event and sets the tone for all participants to plan around. Your theme should tell a story or paint a picture of the idea you are trying to convey. Submitting digital or hand drawn artwork is encouraged.

Legends whisper through the branches, carried by the wind that rustles the canopy above. In the depths of the forest, where moonlight flickers through the leaves and shadows dance along the trunks, the Rougarou watches. Are you the hunter, or the hunted? The storyteller, or the myth waiting to be told?

The wilds of Louisiana hold more than just trees—they hold secrets, spirits, and the echoes of revelry past. Step into the unknown, where the veil between reality and folklore thins. Bring your magic, your mischief, your offerings to the night. In the flickering glow of fire and lantern light, we gather to celebrate, to transform, and to lose ourselves—if only for a moment—among the shadows in the trees.
